Ortho Evra Side Effects
Ortho Evra side effects can range from mild to severe.
While some effects are tolerable, others may become enough of a problem
to prompt the patient to discontinue use of the patch. Some of the most
common Ortho Evra side effects include:
- nausea and vomiting
- breast symptoms
- headache
- menstrual cramps
- abdominal pain
- change in appetite
- nervousness
- depression
- dizziness
- loss of scalp hair
- rash
- vaginal infections
More sinister Ortho Evra side effects are also possible.
Some patients experience problems such as difficulty wearing contacts,
vaginal bleeding, melasma, fluid retention, raised blood pressure, and
skin irritation at the point of application.
The most serious Ortho Evra side effects are an increased
risk of blood clots, heart attacks, and strokes. The elevated levels
of estrogen found in an Ortho Evra
patient’s bloodstream are thought to significantly increase the
risk of suffering from these life-threatening conditions. Dozens of
women have already died from Ortho
Evra complications. Their surviving loved ones are currently filing
Ortho Evra lawsuits, but those who have survived
Ortho Evra side effects may also be entitled to compensation.
